My flights are all booked! I am so excited because its now real. I leave DFW at 4:50pm on Friday, March 27th. I'm flying KLM (Royal Dutch Air) to Amsterdam. After 9.25 hours on the plane I will get to Europe and then board another KLM 8.25 hour flight non-stop to Kilimanjaro. This is actually a much nicer itinerary than I thought I would end up with. I was expecting to have to connect like three times! I've been able to reserve window seats, so I should be able to sleep away the hours.
On the way back I'll fly KLM out of Nairobi and again through Amsterdam. I have heard good things about KLM, so hopefully they will have good movies and good food! And even MORE I hope they don't lose my bags!
Here is a travel tip for you folks. I booked this ticket through a website/company called fly for good. They specialize in humanitarian travel and can get you discounted airfare if you are traveling to volunteer. I saved nearly $600 on my ticket!! What a deal!
Next step: VISA.
