Last night was my farewell party! My wonderful friend Culley offered his house, Preston offered his chef skills, Taylor hit the grill, the lovely Erin made her famous WT guac and lots of wonderful people showed up! I was a moron and forgot to bring my camera. (in my defense, it was already packed in my carry on) So, I didn't take any pics from the night. Maybe if someone who was there with a camera (Taylor) reads this and sends me pics then I can post a couple. In any case, it was a great turn out and I felt very blessed to have the well wishes. The food was amazing! I hear the food in Tanzania is very good (don't worry, you'll get a full report), but I can't imagine that I will eat again like I did last night for quite awhile - I'm talking steaks, chicken, salmon, asparagus, twice baked potatoes, blue cheese salad wedges - the works. Plus lots of wine and beer followed by a bit of a JT dance party. Just how I like to finish off an evening. :)
So thank you to everyone that came out!
On a slightly funny (and informative) note. My sister was being a smart-ass and commented that the Evite that Culley sent out was inappropriate because it said "Bon Voyage" - "it's not like you are going to Paris or something. Doesn't Evite have a safari theme? How do you say Bon Voyage in Swahili?" Well, the answers are, no, Evite doesn't have an African theme (shame on them) and in Swahili you would say "Safari Jambo!"
