Overpacking and Malaria-proofing

Geez. I can't believe its time for me to go! I leave tomorrow! I still don't know if its actually hit me. As much as I've been preparing for the trip, somehow I'm still surprised that I will boarding a plane tomorrow and Saturday evening I will be in Africa! Crazy!

I've been working on packing for weeks now - slowly gathering all the things I need for the trip. I've got a veritable pharmacopeia to bring, along with culturally appropriate clothing, mud-proof footwear, books to help with my placement (Business Plans for Dummies and a pictorial dictionary) and a stack of paperbacks to read! Now I just have to fit it all in my bags. I think I've pack and repacked three times now... just want to get the distribution just right! (and thank goodness that KLM 

lets you check 2 bags for freeee!)

The other trip related thing for today is I am now officially on malaria pills. Come and get me mosquitos! Actually, please don't. However I did take my first pill today. Hopefully I won't be blogging later about nasty side-effects...

Ok - off to really finish packing, load up the iPod with enough tunes for 2 months and then enjoy a family farewell party. I made lasagna! Yum!
